In 1973, DEKEMA Service GmbH in Frankfurt was founded by the Austrian DENTALOFENBAU Ges.m.b.H (the AUSTROMAT ceramic oven’s manufacturer. founded in 1953) to take care of service needs in Germany. DEKEMA GmbH started the industrial production of firing ovens in 1974 in Freilassing as an independent company. The Austrian DENTALOFENBAU Ges.m.b.H was taken over by DEKEMA GmbH in 2006.
Given their practical design, robust construction and high quality, the DEKEMA furnaces achieved a nearly legendary reputation. Even the first version, the AUSTROMAT 2001 A, became a classic. For about 30 years, a large number of laboratories throughout the world have been working with these devices. From the start, DEKEMA has stood for expertise, innovation and reliability.
The additional developments primarily served to individualize the firing process by incorporating the advances of microprocessor technology. The AUSTROMAT 3000, the first microprocessor-controlled dental furnace with an integrated vacuum pump was succeeded by the AUSTROMAT 3001 that offers to technicians the option of freely programming the firing process. Up to 100 programs can be saved and retrieved. Of the more than 7,000 AUSTROMAT 3001 units delivered since 1989, far more than 90% are still being used – day and night by many laboratories.
The AUSTROMAT M (a junior version of the AUSTROMAT 3001) – the first to "oral design" furnace – allows creative dental technicians with an aesthetic flair to easily influence of firing process.
The AUSTROMAT 3001 press-i-dent has a novel electromechanical upward pressing system (UPS) which enables multiple pressings can be performed with different colors.
The AUSTROMAT D series still represents the state-of-the-art (32-bit electronics, two-line display or color screen). Even the basic version is opulent. The refined sensors for monitoring the program parameters to ensure consistently outstanding firing results. In the AUSTROMAT D4press dental furnace, pressing is not performed with compressed air as usual but with air pressure that takes advantage of the atmospheric pressure of the ambient air.
The AUSTROMAT µSiC high-temperature furnace achieves sintering temperatures up to 1,600°C. The specific control of the robust SiC key elements allows them to be quickly and specifically cooled for the first time, thereby significantly shortening the zirconium dioxide sintering process.
The AUSTROMAT 354 press-i-dent is perfectly designed for networking; the integrated web browser allows it to be incorporated into the world of the digital dental laboratory. New benchmarks have been set by the nearly unrestricted programming options via the large touchscreen and direct Internet connection to the extensive DEKEMA database with more than 60,000 firing programs. Development has also been enhanced by the years of experience with the trixpress multiple muffle system. The proven mechanics of the AUSTROMAT 3001 press-i-dent have been refined, and the press characteristic was adapted to the options of the new, more powerful microprocessors.
